Iver, the Foolish & Candy Sheltie Pet San Diego Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell ~ The Weblog

I just lately received to {photograph} the cutest little 5-month-old Sheltie named Iver! I nearly fell in love with him throughout our picture session, and I believe you’ll too. One among my favourite components about Iver is his backstory, and the way his dad and mom got here to search out him. They knew that they needed a canine for an extended, very long time. They regarded in all places in San Diego to search out the fitting match – however regardless of how dog-friendly our metropolis is, they realized that it’s really fairly troublesome to discover a place within the rental housing market that enables canine, particularly canine over 25 kilos. (Which I can personally relate to! My Bailey just isn’t a small canine!) So after looking at shelter after shelter, Iver’s dad and mom merely weren’t capable of finding the fitting pup. However you realize what? I actually imagine that the fitting canine will discover its option to the fitting household. And after months of uncertainty, they lastly heard from a Sheltie breeder out of the blue – and what have you learnt, it was lastly time for them to satisfy their canine. Iver and his dad and mom go collectively like a glove. They’re all so candy, they usually love spending time collectively! (Which meant that I actually cherished spending time with them, too!)

We went to Previous Poway Park for the primary a part of Iver’s session, and all the things was going nice. However this park has a stream operating by the center of it, and on the day we visited, the stream mattress was damp with just a bit little bit of water. Iver, nonetheless, took one look and determined he was going to fake that there was nonetheless water in it! He jumped face-first into the mud! It definitely gave us all a scare! It was an enormous drop, however fortunately he was fully effective (and able to do it once more two minutes later, the little stinker!). However with a long-haired canine like him, a bit mud goes a great distance. So we paused the picture session, reassessed, and determined to get collectively for the second half of our session on one other day. So I can fortunately promise that no canine had been harmed within the making of this picture session… however not for lack of making an attempt! Thanks, Iver! 😉

So a couple of days later, we headed all the way down to the seashore in La Jolla, proper close to the place his mother works. He cherished operating round on the sand – in reality, Iver most well-liked to remain dry the entire time! (Apparently rivers & streams are fascinating, however the ocean? To not be trusted.) He was not a fan of the water aside from dipping his toes in – and that’s completely okay. The truth is, it helped us get some nice portraits of his stunning (dry) fur!

I don’t understand how Iver’s character goes to develop as he grows up, since he has a lot rising left to do – however I do know that his dad and mom are the excellent match for him. I’m so glad all of them discovered one another. And I really like when folks come to me with a pet, as a result of it’s just the start! It’s a real honor every time, as a result of I get a front-row seat to the start of an superb story. I couldn’t be extra excited for this candy household of three!

Did I point out that Iver is a beautiful canine?!

He additionally had a BLAST operating round on the seashore!

However he’s all the time happiest when he’s together with his dad and mom. Candy boy.
