Lacy Gilbertson (USA) impressed within the CHF50,000 CSI4*Adequan® WEF Problem Cup Spherical 3 on Thursday afternoon throughout Week 3 of the Winter Equestrian Pageant (WEF) at Wellington Worldwide. Course designer Peter Grant (CAN) welcomed 55 pairs to the Worldwide Ring and set the stage for a nine-horse jump-off.
Regardless of her conservative jump-off plan, Gilbertson and Karlin van’t Vennehof had been deceivingly quick and correct to cease the clock at 41.41 seconds over the quick course. The 2010 Belgian Warmblood mare (Fantomas de Muze x Quasimodo van de Molendreef), owned by Seabrook LLC, bested Lillie Keenan (USA) and Argan De Beliard, coming in at 43.09 seconds for the runner-up place. Jacob Pope (USA) and Freeway FBH, owned by The Freeway Group, rounded out the rostrum positions in 44.78 seconds.
Gilbertson partnered with Karlin van’t Vennehof, the previous mount of her coach Shane Sweetnam, initially of the 2022 WEF season. Since day one, the pair has been extraordinarily constant within the present ring.
“I believe I’ve a lot confidence in her that once I go within the ring, it doesn’t matter what occurs if I do it half proper, we’re going to be clear,” mentioned Gilbertson. “She’s so scopey and he or she’s my sort of journey so I’m very snug on her. I believe that’s the primary factor that’s helped us click on and maintain the consistency.”
